Peter J. Hammond wrote the Torchwood stories Small Worlds and From Out of the Rain. He also wrote the unproduced Doctor Who television story Paradise Five, which was later adapted into the audio story Paradise 5.

Apart from this, he is known for creating the science fiction series Sapphire & Steel.
