Alexander Bruce was a 20th century Earth general. He organised several expeditions to the Himalayas and a cricket match at the Grand Imperial Hotel in Tibet in 1917. He presumed that Sherlock Holmes and John Watson were real. He and John Matthews helped the Fifth Doctor stop the return of the Great Old Ones. (AUDIO: The Roof of the World)
