John Matthews was a 20th century Earth journalist.
Matthews was the Royal Geographical Society's correspondent for General Alexander Bruce's expeditions to the Himalayas in 1917. He didn't usually play cricket. He helped the Fifth Doctor stop the return of the Great Old Ones. He was able to develop photos. (AUDIO: The Roof of the World)
