Cape Town was a location in South Africa. In the 1890s, it was an idyllic tourist destination.
The New Zealand Shipping Company offered the wealthy a trip to Cape Town aboard their Royal Mail Steamers from London or Plymouth. The trip would also visit destinations including New Zealand, Australia and Madeira.
Another trip, by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, offered "cheap fares" to "Cape Town, South Africa", leaving London's Royal Albert Dock on 7 July and Plymouth on 8 July.
