A Child of Time was a being that had the abilities of both a time sensitive and a time channeller. The Dæmons wished to harness the power of a Child of Time to learn the secrets to travelling beyond their world of Dæmos. They influenced human history through the Sodality to produce a Child of Time, Maria. Maria, refusing to accept the commands of the Dæmon Mastho, committed suicide in Spitalfields in 1949.
