Naomi A. Alderman is an English author who wrote the Eleventh Doctor BBC New Series Adventures novel Borrowed Time.
Alderman's prose debut was the 2006 novel Disobedience, a story about a rabbi's daughter who comes out as a lesbian. That successful work was followed by another novel, The Lessons, in 2010.
Apart from novels, Alderman is known for writing a regular column on technology for the Guardian.[1]
With the 2011 publication of Borrowed Time, Alderman became the first Jewish woman to write a licenced Doctor Who novel.
A longtime Doctor Who fan, Alderman has cited Peter Davison as her childhood favourite Doctor.[2]
One of her favourite stories is The Masque of Mandragora.[2] A reference to the Mandragora Helix appears in Borrowed Time.
