Planet Deadlock was the name given to two fleets of timeships locked in a perpetual fugue-attempt to enter real-time around Utterlost, creating a temporal Dyson sphere of linked ships. In the "city" of the linked ships, the conflict between the Great Houses and the enemy continued to surface, but only as urban crime rather than war. Since no ship could leave the interlock without conceding a tactical defeat, they were regarded as lost in conflict.
The conflict gained notoreity as one of the Five Famous Space Battles, and the phrase "looking for a posting to Planet Deadlock" became House Military slang for any displacement activity. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
