Susan Boyd is an Emmy Award-winning hairstylist who was the head of the hairstyling department on Torchwood: Miracle Day.
She has enjoyed a long career, with work in several science-fiction franchises, including The Outer Limits, X-Men, Friday the 13th, Star Trek, Babylon 5, and Underworld. Her Emmy, though, came for her hair stylings on the 1991 revival of Dark Shadows.
Prior to Torchwood, she had worked with some of the department heads on the 1996 Paul McGann movie. In the early 2000s, she was in the X2 make-up department alongside Joann Fowler, the main make-up artist on Doctor Who (1996). And in the late 1980s, she worked with the tele-movie's costume designer, Jori Woodman, on The Trial of the Incredible Hulk.
