- The Infinity and Beyond variant cover of The Twelfth Doctor #1 is based on the cover of Cover of The Uncanny X-Men #141.
- Wolverine, Lucas Bishop and Nightcrawler are members of the X-Men.
- Additionally, the Marvel film Logan depicts the X-Men comics as existing within the main continuity of the films. Therefore, it is plausible that the same could be said for the references to X-Men as fact and fiction in DWU sources.
- In-universe parodies of X-Men include the T-Men, (COMIC: The Fourth Wall) the Zz-Men, (COMIC: Give Free or Die) the New-OmeN, (PROSE: The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Enemy) and the Zangger Institute for the Genetically Privileged. (COMIC: Wings of the Predator)
- The Shi'ar Empire is mentioned in PROSE: The Quantum Archangel.
- The name of the mutant-detection computer from X-Men is in fact Cerebro.
- Steve Lyons wrote an X-Men novel trilogy, The Legacy Quest.
- Patrick Stewart, who played Professor Charles Xavier in several X-Men movies, was considered for the roles of both the Doctor and the Master in the 1996 TV movie.[1]
- Ian McKellen played Magneto in the original film trilogy, and Days of Future Past.
- In 2017, Alan Cumming, who played Nightcrawler in the 2003 film X2, said that he had been approached about playing the Doctor on two occasions, once by Russell T Davies and once by Mark Gatiss, but that the deal-breaker both times had been his reluctance to relocate to Cardiff.[2]
- The mask worn by Korwin in TV: 42 was partly inspired by X-Men mutant Cyclops.[3]
