Hey, Thank you for contacting me. I deleted the thread because it referred to a certain spoiler. You are correct that it isn't a secret but it is still a spoiler here on the Tardis Data Core and thus not allowed. I'm not sure rewording your post would stop a spoiler, because even if the post didn't refer to the spoiler it would still most definitely cause users to talk about the spoiler in the thread. The question you asked is nearly impossible to discuss without also discussing the spoiler and users are bound to bring it up in a thread like that. The spoiler policy is pretty strict here. Again, thanks for taking the time to ask me this. if you have any further questions then please fell free to ask. --TheOriginalDoctor ☎ 21:07, February 16, 2017 (UTC)

The Happiness Patrol Novelisation
Hello.
A short while ago I sent a virtually identical message to an overwrought admin. I am unsure if they were even the right person to ask about yhis in the first place. I apologise if this is not the right place to ask a question and/or if I am not supposed to ask the same question to more than one person. I am new to editing; I have been a passive lurker up until this point.
I was wondering if there is a specific mandate against information from the novelisation of The Happiness Patrol? I have noticed that additions from novelisations, such as character names and backstories, are included on the appropriate pages, for the most part, and are considered to have canonical value. However, very little information from the novelisation of The Happiness Patrol seems to have been assimilated into their relevance pages.
Trivia above Terra Omega introduced in the novel does seem to have been taken and added to the wiki, however significant backstory in regards to Terra Alpha, Helen A, Gilbert M and the Kandyman appear to be entirety absent, with no references made to the novelisation whatsoever.
Similarly, the page for the novelisation of The Happiness Patrol appears to be somewhat sparse, particularly the "differences from televised version" section, which only lists two small differences and again excises (or fails to include) the expansive new information the novel provides.
I apologise again if you are not the person to ask this question, or if this is not the place, but I felt a degree of curiosity and minor injustice. I will admit that my judgement could be clouded by the fact that The Happiness Patrol is possibly my favourite serial, however I do still see the absence of so much canonical information as mysterious and strange.

Welcome to the Tardis:About TheOriginalDoctor

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. 23skidoo 21:18, May 31, 2016 (UTC)

Discussionsedit source

Hi :) We're glad you've been enjoying the discussions module. However, please bear in mind that the same rules that govern the wiki as a whole also apply there.

You may not ever, under any circumstances, give advice on how to illegally obtain episodes of Doctor Who, either physically or digitally. You've at least twice recommended going to sites that do not have the right to stream Doctor Who. Please just play it safe: avoid answering questions about getting episodes of Doctor Who in the wake of its departure from Netflix and Hulu.

We don't allow spoilers except in two places. Please read T:SPOIL in its entirety. You cannot even announce casting or crewing of yet-to-be-broadcast stories. Also, we strongly frown upon links to doctorwhotv.co.uk, because it's spoileriffffffic. I've had to delete a post of yours just today for these two reasons.

Again, we're very glad that you enjoy this new product, and we hope that you continue enthusiastically using it. But please remember that Doctor Who fans have a wide range of opinions about what counts as a spoiler and what doesn't. Believe me, we've lost editors who were accidentally exposed to spoilers no different from the one you posted. Therefore, after a good deal of discussion back during Matt Smith's first year, we adopted a strict, but very clear, definition of spoilers that everyone can understand. Just to make sure that the widest possible range of people can enjoy the wiki, please adhere to that definition.

Proper answersedit source

Will you please be serious and answer my questions, properly? I don't understand anything. Doctor 25 17:48, December 15, 2016 (UTC)

Like I said already, when you ask a huge amount of questions about small details that are more or less pointless that also could mean pretty much anything, people won't be interested in discussing them. Answering a large amount of small questions at once is very tiresome, I think you would be better off if you used the wiki as a resource and your own opinion to come to conclusions for your particularly small questions. --TheOriginalDoctor 03:03, December 16, 2016 (UTC)

My questions are not pointless and I can't make a decision on by myself with my own opinion. Doctor 25 16:09, January 4, 2017 (UTC)

Unanswered questionedit source

In 'The Krotons', the Doctor's TARDIS vanished when the Krotons attempted to destroy it and then reappered; due to the HADS. If they tried to destroy it with the HADS off, would it still be there and not disappearing? (http://tardis.wikia.com/d/p/2919060040239286061) Doctor 25 17:17, January 16, 2017 (UTC)

My talk page isn't the place for these kinds of questions. please take it to the Discussions page. http://tardis.wikia.com/d/f?sort=latest --TheOriginalDoctor 20:00, January 16, 2017 (UTC)

It is at the Discussions page. Here is the link: http://tardis.wikia.com/d/p/2919060040239286061 Doctor 25 16:14, January 17, 2017 (UTC)

Deleting Threadedit source

Hi there. Normally, I don't question what moderators do, but I was curious as to why my discussion about "The Doctor being Ginger?" was deleted. (if you didn't do it, perhaps you can direct me to the one who did?) I didn't think that I violated any wiki rules and it's not a secret anymore that Capaldi is leaving.

If that's the reason, then I understand. I'd like to try again, changing the wording to not violate wiki or TARDIScore rules.

Thanks a lot. Mister Fifty 19:31, February 16, 2017 (UTC)
