Welcome to the Tardis:About Mister Fifty

Thanks for your edits! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is a great time to have joined us, because now you can play the Game of Rassilon with us and win cool stuff! Well, okay, badges. That have no monetary value. And that largely only you can see. But still: they're cool!

We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:

If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! —  you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:

Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask on my talk page. 23skidoo 15:17, May 24, 2016 (UTC)

Infoboxedit source

Hi! You have an Infobox Individual on your user page, but those are only allowed for in universe characters. You can put an Infobox User on your user page, as this is the only infobox that is allowed on user pages. Thanks. Shambala108 03:55, May 29, 2016 (UTC)

To use the proper infobox, just type Infobox User on your user page. That will put the proper infobox on your page, then you can fill it out however you like. Shambala108 02:54, June 3, 2016 (UTC)

Imagesedit source

Hi! I took care of the images on The Dalek Invasion of Earth (TV story), but in the future, if you see images appearing as redlinks, you can remove them yourself if you like. The redlink means the image was deleted. Thanks! Shambala108 01:52, June 10, 2016 (UTC)

Story summariesedit source

Hi! Please don't copy story summaries from other sources like the Doctor Who Reference Guide. This violates Tardis:Plagiarism. We only want original content on this wiki. Thanks! Shambala108 01:02, June 18, 2016 (UTC)

Questionedit source

Hi! Re your edit at Confederate States of America, does Blood and Hope (novel) mention Appomattox Court House? Thanks. Shambala108 01:08, June 18, 2016 (UTC)

Re: CON pagesedit source

Hi! What you're seeing on the CON pages (and probably on other pages) is a return to the look we had a couple of years ago. These are templates that belong in certain locations on the page, depending on the template. I'm not entirely sure what is going on, but one of our admins, User:CzechOut, has been working on the appearance of the wiki. For now, while he is doing so, it's best to leave these templates alone. Yes, it looks a little odd, but hopefully it will look better soon. Thanks. Shambala108 04:30, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

Re: dab pagesedit source

It looks to me (unless I've miscounted) that you have edited four dab pages. But I checked through your badges and don't see the one for editing one dab page. My guess (and that's all it is) is that you earned two badges at once for that edit, but only got credit for one badge. The next time you edit a dab page, you should be at five, which should be another badge. If that doesn't happen, let me know and I'll do some more checking. Shambala108 14:20, July 12, 2016 (UTC)

So my first idea was wrong, if your profile is saying 0/1, then it's not giving you any credit for it. I passed the problem on to User:CzechOut, who has done a lot of work setting up the game and usually has the answers to game-related questions. Shambala108 04:44, July 13, 2016 (UTC)
Hi there :) As stated in the Game of Rassilon rules, the admin staff reserve the right to suddenly remove editing tracks. That's what happened with the dab track. It was suspended in mid-December 2013.
We try, as stated in T:CAT GOR, to label currently-involved categories with game note.

The rules were written with a view towards what was possible in the game -- given that we here at Tardis don't fully control it. We have no ability to do much of what you've requested. We can't add points to your account; we can't give you a more complete ranking of players; and we can't give you a list of what categories have been removed.
That said, the badges under the heading on your user page, "More Badges You Can Earn!", should generally be accurate. I know that the dab award did appear there when it wasn't strictly speaking available, but it should not now be listed as a badge you can get.
Remember, though, the point of the game is to make good quality edits. The people who are top-ranked generally make a ton of edits that aren't actually included in game play. I'd strongly advise you against editing only so as to play the game. That could lead you into making any number of low-quality edits, which would result in your being banned for "gaming the system".
I urge you to just try to have fun with it and don't take it super seriously. We have one of the more developed instances of the Achievements feature (that's its true, unthemed, Wikia name), and we offer a ton of ways you can earn points. Just edit according to your interests, try to add genuine value to the pages you're editing, and you'll be fine.

Page movesedit source

Hi! Please note that, per Thread:128198, only admins are permitted to move/rename pages on this wiki. Please see the thread I cited for the reasons and for the proper procedure when asking for a page move. Thanks. Shambala108 15:09, July 20, 2016 (UTC)

Spacingedit source

Hey. Please don't introduce unnecessary whitespace to pages, per Tardis:Vertical spacing. P&P talk contribs 19:04, August 26, 2016 (UTC)

I'm not getting the letter smushing on my screen, could you send me a screenshot? I can bring it up with the other admins if there's a CSS problem. P&P talk contribs 19:32, August 26, 2016 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for letting me know. It's being investigated. P&P talk contribs 00:57, August 27, 2016 (UTC)

Re: plot additionsedit source

Hi! Thanks for asking. I'm not sure I'm the greatest person to ask, but I have done a lot of plot summaries for the Short Trips (series), so I can give you suggestions based on what I do.

Basically you want to tell what happens in the story, but it does take practice to see what should be included and what shouldn't. If a detail is important to the overall plot, include it, but if it seems like it's not that necessary, you can leave it out. Some of the TV stories have way too much plot detail. I suggest looking over some of the audio stories that already have plot summaries to get an idea of how much to include.

I can probably help you better after you've written a plot summary, so go ahead and write what you think is important, and I can take a look at it and give you some feedback. Shambala108 02:24, September 18, 2016 (UTC)

Hi! Sorry I took so long to get back to you, but I didn't have time to sit down and take a good look at your edits. I've now read through what you've got so far, and there are a few policies you need to take a look at:
Also, I made some grammar tweaks; if you get a chance, you should take a look at what I changed.
Thanks! Shambala108 02:15, September 23, 2016 (UTC)

Silly questionedit source

My question of 'Twelfth Doctor's reaction to Clara Oswald's death (Face the Raven)' is not silly. It's sensible, rational and important. Doctor 25 16:02, January 4, 2017 (UTC)

Inactivityedit source

The very act of you leaving me a message removed that tag, as you've doubtless seen by now. That tag is completely automated and it's applied as soon as you've hit a certain number of days without activity.

Re: reply problemsedit source

Hi I don't know much about discussion board problems but I passed your message on to User:CzechOut maybe he can help you thanks Shambala108 03:22, February 8, 2019 (UTC)

Hey there. :) Sorry you're having difficulties replying to our Discussions. You're not under any kind of a block, and you've been able to edit since you reached out to Shambala108. Those both would suggest that you're able to reply in Discussions. So it's a little unclear what, exactly, the problem might be.
It might help to take a step back and examine some basic things.
 • Does this happen only at Tardis' Discussions, or have you noticed it on other wikis?
 • What kind of a device/operating system are you using? Have you tried posting on both a mobile device and a desktop computer or tablet? If so, did you get the same results?
 • What kind of error message are you getting?
 • Were you able to get a screenshot of the event?
The answer to any or all of these questions will help in trying to figure out a solution!
