Madam Yeva was the leader of the Syrans. She looked after River Song's vortex manipulator and sonic screwdriver whilst she investigated Ruslans mines in the volcano.

After Helen Sinclair told Madam Yeva to move camp for the second time in two days due to seismic activity, she consulted the Elders. River and Helen later returned to her and told her that Ruslan had been exploiting the Syrans. With her people, she sang a song which kept his spacecraft from leaving and boarded the Galactic Heritage ship to take them to New Syra. (AUDIO: The Sonomancer)
