Pomfret Castle

Pomfret Castle was a castle in England.

After he was deposed in 1399, King Richard II was imprisoned in Pomfret Castle. Having been denied food on the orders of the Archbishop of Canterbury Thomas Arundel, Richard starved to death in the castle in 1400. (AUDIO: The Doctor's Tale)
