Fathom Events is an entertainment content provider that broadcasts entertainment events in cinemas throughout the United States. It has screened special Doctor Who events since 2013, with the 50th Anniversary.
Doctor Who screenings
- Doctor Who: The Day of the Doctor in 3D - 25 November 2013[1] - special screening of 50th Anniversary special The Day of the Doctor. Also featured a Behind the Lenses featurette with interviews by the cast and showrunner Steven Moffat.
- Doctor Who + Wings - 16 June/17 June 2014[2] - special screening of series 2 story Rise of the Cybermen and The Age of Steel, as well as an interview with David Tennant reflecting on his time as the Doctor. Also included a Tennant-narrated cinema-vised event following a flock of birds flying above the landscapes of Earth.
- Doctor Who Season Premiere - 24 August/25 August 2014[3] - special screening of series 8 opening story Deep Breath. Included the series prequel, shown before the episode, as well as a Behind the Scenes look.
- Doctor Who: Dark Water/Death in Heaven in 3D - 15 September/16 September 2015[4] - special screening of series 8 story Dark Water and Death in Heaven in anticipation of series 9. Also included the series 9 prequel The Doctor's Meditation as well as an interview with the cast hosted by Wil Wheaton.
- Doctor Who - 28 December/29 December 2015[5] - special screening of 2015 Christmas special The Husbands of River Song.
- Doctor Who - 14 November 2016[6] - special screening of the animated lost Season 4 story The Power of the Daleks. Included an interview with remaining original cast.
- Doctor Who - 27 December/29 December 2016[7] - special screening of 2016 Christmas special The Return of Doctor Mysterio.
- Doctor Who - 17 April/19 April 2017[8] - special screening of series 10 opening story The Pilot. Included two bonus programmes; the Class opening episode For Tonight We Might Die and the never-before-seen Becoming The Companion, which features interviews with Peter Capaldi, Pearl Mackie and Steven Moffat and is narrated by Ingrid Oliver.
- RiffTrax Live: Doctor Who - 17 August/24 August 2017[9] - special screening of the 1983 story The Five Doctors helmed by the stars of Mystery Science Theater 3000®, Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett.
- Doctor Who: Twice Upon a Time - 27 December/28 December 2017[10] - special screening of the 2017 Christmas Special Twice Upon a Time. The event featured two special bonus pieces; one taking you behind the scenes to the filming of this very special Christmas Special and the other celebrating the tenures of Peter Capaldi as the Doctor and Steven Moffat as showrunner and lead writer.
- Doctor Who: Genesis of the Daleks - 11 June 2018[11] - As celebration of the Blu-ray release of Tom Baker's first full season as the Fourth Doctor, a special screening of the Director's Cut of one of the most popular stories, Genesis of the Daleks, took place. The event also featured a freshly recorded interview with the actor himself, called In Conversations with Tom Baker.
- Doctor Who New Season Premiere - 10 October/11 October 2018[12] - special screening of the Series 11 opener The Woman Who Fell to Earth. The event featured two behind the scenes bonus features; Becoming a Doctor, following Jodie Whittaker's journey from being cast to coming alive as the Thirteenth Doctor; and Directing and Regenerating Doctor Who, meeting the director of the opener, Jamie Childs, and discovering the unique challenges of bringing a new Doctor onto the screen.
- Doctor Who: The End of Time 10th Anniversary - 7 August 2019[13] - special screening of both Christmas and New Year parts of The End of Time in celebration of its 10th Anniversary. The event featured a brand new interview with David Tennant reflecting on his time on the show and everything that has come since.
