Miranda Pelham was a writer.
When Pelham was fifteen, she first learned about Valdemar on Proxima 2. It was the inspiration for a series of novels she wrote later.
Paul Neville brought her to Ashkellia, where Valdemar was supposedly entombed, to help in his plan to access the higher dimensions. Valdemar convinced her to stay in his dimension and to learn from it.
Upon regenerating, Romana II copied her next incarnation's appearance after Pelham. (PROSE: Tomb of Valdemar) The Eighth Doctor remarked that she looked worryingly similar to his mother. (PROSE: The Ancestor Cell)
