2008...

I was sat in my living room with my family. On the TV, a tall, thin man in a brown pinstripe suit ran towards a young, blonde woman in a blue jacket with a huge laser cannon, as if they'd been reunited after an eternity apart.

Then the man was shot.

Some sort of bronze and gold pepper-pot, adorned with gold spheres, with a long eyepiece, some square-ish light bulbs, a sink plunger, and a whisk. Not the first thing that came to mind when I thought of the most dangerous creature in the universe. But it had shot the man, lighting up his skeleton in a blaze of blue light. A second later, the pepper-pot was dead, blown up by some guy in a grey trench coat who appeared from nowhere, also wielding a huge laser cannon.

The pinstripe man was now on the ground, smiling through his pain, happy that, at the very least, he got to see the blonde woman again.

Now inside a huge, mechanical control room of sorts, with a console featuring a large, green piston of sorts located in the centre. The pinstripe man was surrounded by the grey trench coat man, the blonde woman, and a brown-haired woman. The two women were crying in distress, and the trench coat man said that they knew what would happen next.

The pinstripe man rose slightly, leaning on the console, and said...

"I'm regenerating."

Then he burst into golden flames.

The end of The Stolen Earth. The oldest memory of Doctor Who I have. And the beginning of my obsession over this show.
