- Doug Brogan writes that the Stingray, the World Aquanaut Security Patrol's key vessel, has just launched its most terrifying mission to date. It is terrifying because none of the crew has any idea of what to expect from the mysterious alien machine which they are following into a lake in the heart of the Brazilian jungle.
- Phones was interviewed over the Radio Light Refractor while he and Troy lay in wait in case one of the machines appeared. He said "I can only describe the machine as looking something like a monster lobster! If it hadn't been for the strength and power of the U.S. Junglecat, I reckon we would have all had it. This time we're up against a real threat ... let's hope Stingray can come through okay."
- Doug Brogan is TV 21's Action Reporter.
- Logan, in charge of Jodrell Bank's radio telescope, is mystified by the loss of contact with the Omega-Minus device which was hurtling through space towards Earth. Jodrell Bank last plotted its position as it approached the Eros Asteroid Belt and are working to try and regain contact.
- All defences in Space City remain alerted and the public have been assured that there is no need for panic.
Story notes
- This story is another crossover with Stingray and Fireball XL5.
