Revision as of 18:19, 23 March 2021

This article needs a big cleanup.

As established by many precedents, we cover media like this in full, not just the Doctor Who elements; therefore, the plot summary and cast list needs to be amended to contain details from the entire mini-sode.

These problems might be so great that the article's factual accuracy has been compromised. Talk about it here or check the revision history or Manual of Style for more information.

This subject is not a valid source for writing our in-universe articles, and may only be referenced in behind the scenes sections or other invalid-tagged articles.

2020: The Movie was a comedy sketch originally shown during the 2021 Red Nose Day telethon on BBC One. It was presented in the format of a trailer for a made-up film about the struggles of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic throughout 2020. It contained a short scene which featured Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill in (semi-)character as the Thirteenth Doctor and Yasmin Khan.

Synopsis

Starring Kiera Knightley, Michael Sheen and KSI among many other special guests, prepare to see your favourite celebrities in the most unlikely roles!

After a year like no other, prepare for the biggest blockbuster movie NEVER made (yet) with 2020: The Movie. Part biopic, part disaster film, this new release turns movie stars into unlikely everyday British heroes.

Plot

The Thirteenth Doctor and Yasmin Khan are working in a hospital, when they suddenly hear clapping. They realises it is 8PM on a Thursday, meaning it could only be the clapping for carers. They also remember that it means bakeoff is about start, and that they needed to get a move on if they wanted to see it.

References

  • The woman who really can't take it anymore has a stuffed animal thrown at her head, presumably by one of her children.
  • The Doctor and Yaz are wearing face masks.
  • The Doctor attempts to use her sonic screwdriver, before Yaz swipes it away.

Story notes

  • This is the first Comic Relief sketch since 2013 to feature Doctor Who elements. Coincidentally, the previous sketch also featured the Doctor appearing in a hospital.
