Magentas were a fruit considered a delicacy in some quarters of Mutter's Spiral. (AUDIO: The Galileo Trap) They grew in orchards on Gallifrey and could be eaten dried or fresh and made into rum. (PROSE: Lungbarrow)

Posing as Virginia Galilei, Fortuna served Galileo, the Eighth Doctor, Liv Chenka and Helen Sinclair magentas in 1639. Helen and the Doctor both recognised that they were unearthly. In the TARDIS, before leaving for Phaiton, he offered some to Helen. (AUDIO: The Galileo Trap)
