The sixth series in The Early Adventures range of audios was released by Big Finish Productions in 2019. It was the first series with both First and Second Doctors who appeared in two special releases for Big Finish's 20th anniversary of Doctor Who audio. It also featured the reunion of the Second Doctor and the Master, portrayed by James Dreyfus, as well as the recasting of Katarina, played by Ajjaz Awad.
Overview
The sixth series of The Early Adventures saw a format shift for the range: instead of four releases, it was the first to contain only two stories. Also, it marked David Richardson's last series as producer, with Alfie Shaw of the Short Trips series set to succeed him. The range was set to continue beyond series six with two releases each year, with the next double release scheduled for 2020. (VOR 125) However, there were no follow-up releases in the range that year, with the Coronavirus pandemic disrupting numerous other Big Finish projects. (VOR 137)

Notes
- When both upcoming releases were first announced by Big Finish on 18 May 2019, Daughter of the Gods was stated to be the first story in Series 6 while The Home Guard was presented as the second.[1] Vortex magazine presented them in the same way upon publication of #125 on 1 July. However, neither their respective production codes nor the ultimate release order reflect this. Upon release, the Big Finish website listed The Home Guard above Daughter of the Gods while also numbering the former as 6.1 in the range and the latter as 6.2. Both stories were released simultaneously on the same day.
- Daughter of the Gods was a multi-Doctor story produced to mark the 20th anniversary of Big Finish working on Doctor Who audio dramas. It was the second special commemorative release of 2019 after The Legacy of Time released that July. The story emulated a "five-year anniversary special" that could plausibly have been made for television back in 1968. (BFX: Daughter of the Gods, VOR 128)
