The Doctor was subsequently able to translate the opening line of ''Everest in Easy Stages'', which was "Do not be afraid."

Teach Yourself Tibetan was a book owned by the Fourth Doctor.

The Doctor took Teach Yourself Tibetan from his coat pocket whilst clinging to the side of the pit on Chloris, to better understand another book he had previously produced: namely Everest in Easy Stages, which was written in Tibetan.

The Doctor was subsequently able to translate the opening line of Everest in Easy Stages, which was "Do not be afraid." (TV: The Creature from the Pit)
