The Forest of Words was a region in the Land of Fiction. It was a white-floored forest made of dark, strangely shaped trees; when viewed from above, they revealed themselves to be letters, which spelt out messages, mainly proverbs. (TV: The Mind Robber) The Second Doctor found that it did not smell like a forest, and had no scent of moss, leaf mould, or living things. (PROSE: The Mind Robber) When Jason took the Seventh Doctor to the Forest, the Doctor remembered his earlier visit, and remarked that it was creatively "a bit stale"; Jason admitted that it had been created by his predecessor.
