An untitled television story featuring the Seventh Doctor and Ace was released in 1988, sandwiched within a larger television broadcast that promoted season 25. This format would become common in the 21st century with the webcast mini-episodes produced to coincide with releases of Doctor Who: The Collection.
Plot
Sitting by the side of a river, Ace ponders a bracelet around her wrist, with the number 25 attached to it. The Seventh Doctor replies, telling her that it has also been 25 years since he first visited Ace's planet. Ace asks if things have gotten more peaceful, as time has moved on, but he only grins at her, trailing off after saying "well".
Now standing, Ace tells the Doctor that surely, after twenty-five years, it's time for a rest, but to him, it's only time to get started; hooking his umbrella around the crook of her arm, he pulls her into the TARDIS.
- "C'mon Ace!"

Notes
- Ace's line about resting after twenty-five years seems to be an allusion to the criticism that the series garnered at the time, and the Doctor's reply only getting started is loaded in meta subtext. In bitter irony, the series would only continue for one more season before the cancellation in 1989.
