Eridu was founded in around 5000 BCE. (AUDIO: Out of the Deep)
Gilgamesh was hunting on the plains of Eridu when Qataka lured him to her. (PROSE: Timewyrm: Genesys)
According to Professor Wood, Eridu was abandoned long before the 1st century. During Wood and his daughter Jessica's expedition to the site in the 1850s, the First Doctor and Steven Taylor had also chanced upon the place. (AUDIO: Out of the Deep)
