:: I think most users, or at least a vocal number of us, want them to be valid but until forums are back we're relying on half measures to get them in, like saying "well Risen (webcast) refers to only the new footage not full trailer part, so "He Who Fights With Monsters (webcast) refers to the CGI footage, not the trailer ending, etc" Editoronthewiki ☎ 16:07, 15 December 2022 (UTC) | :: I think most users, or at least a vocal number of us, want them to be valid but until forums are back we're relying on half measures to get them in, like saying "well Risen (webcast) refers to only the new footage not [[Davros Rises! :::Yeah, that makes sense to me. I kinda agree with them, really. I was a bit confused when I went through the edit history and saw that pretty much all the edits so far have been done by some of the more frequent editors, as opposed to an anonymous editor. : Drats. Yes, this is very much invalid from the outset due to that "Trailer by…" credit at the end.
: Though I'd like to note that there's a clear reason this ""should"" be valid even if the earlier Doctor of War trailers aren't — this one is a genuine video prequel, ultimately little different from Transmission from Mars, whereas, if I'm not mistaken, the earlier trailers were more traditional montages of clips from the stories set to semi-animated visuals. Certainly there is an argument for covering even the latter as valid in some capacity (as, essentially, illustrations of the audio story they accompany), but that's an altogether different and more radical proposal than the more bounded proposal that something which otherwise fulfills all the four little rules ought to be valid even if it's termed a "trailer".
: But yes, even that has yet to be enshrined into policy, so for the time being, this is invalid and there's little that could change this, short of BF coming out and saying "the 'Trailer by Chris Thompson' credit was a clerical error and this is officially Not A Trailer". Scrooge MacDuck ⊕ 20:45, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
::I would also like to point out that Gallifrey War Room (webcast) should also be invalid per the talk page. The trailer doesn't have a credit calling it a trailer, but the twitter account explicitly does. This is definitely something to revisit. But, hopefully, we can do it soon^TM. Najawin ☎ 23:00, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
::: That's kind of an even more special case of something that, from what i can tell, does not define itself in the video itself as a trailer Editoronthewiki ☎ 23:04, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
::::But the video itself calling the thing a trailer isn't the standard we use. We just care that it's officially labeled a trailer. Indeed, the "next time" trailers aren't themselves labeled trailers in the videos. (They're just called trailers in the title/description when they're reposted online.)
