The Cyrrhenic Empire — or Greater Cyrrhenic Empire (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Ribos Operation) — also known as the Alliance, was a group of aligned planets, including Levithia and Ribos.
The Empire had fought in the Alliance Wars (or frontier wars), such as on Freytus, most led by the emperor Graff Vynda-K. Despite this, and due in part to his tyrannical rule, they refused to back him on the throne after his half-brother took control of his planet. (TV: The Ribos Operation)
Bev Tarrant recovered what Bernice Summerfield identified as an engine from the Greater Cyrrhenic Empire. (AUDIO: Signifiers of the Verphidiae)
