Dr Yevgeny Kandinsky was a cosmologist from Ukraine. Brought to Utah by Henry van Statten to study the "Metaltron", Kandinsky touched the casing and was burnt alive. (PROSE: Dalek) Before his own meeting with the Metaltron, the Ninth Doctor was offered a pair of gloves by Danny Simmons, who noted that "the last guy who touched" it had "burst into flames".
