Ralph Watson (20 January 1936[1]-20 June 2021[2]) worked extensively in theatre, television and film for over fifty years.

In the '60s and '70s he appeared in four Doctor Who television stories alongside three Doctors, with Patrick Troughton twice. He played an uncredited Generator Scientist in The Underwater Menace (DWM 209), Captain Knight in The Web of Fear, Ettis in The Monster of Peladon and Ben Travers in Horror of Fang Rock.

In 2019, he reprised the role of Captain Knight in The Diary of River Song: Series Six audio story The Web of Time.

He shared his memories of his Doctor Who career on the documentaries The Peladon Saga and Going Underground: The Making of The Web of Fear (the latter of which was released after his death), the 154th edition of Big Finish's charitable podcast series Toby Hadoke's Who's Round and the audio commentary for The Monster of Peladon's DVD release.
