Anton Diffring (20 October 1916-19 May 1989[1]) played De Flores in the Doctor Who television story Silver Nemesis.
He was previously considered for the role of Commander Vorshak in Warriors of the Deep. (TCH 38)
Career
He was best known in the English-speaking world for his portrayal of Nazi officers, in films such as Where Eagles Dare (1968) and The Heroes of Telemark (1965). He appeared in the 1966 film adaptation of Fahrenheit 451, playing one of the firemen and also the school headmistress. He also starred in the film Operation Daybreak as the SS officer Reinhard Heydrich.
