International Women's Day was a yearly tradition, usually taking place on 8 March, (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary) celebrating women, (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did) beginning on 19 March 1911. (PROSE: There's a storm coming: 19 March) In 2016, an International Women's Day Festival was held in England. (TV: The Metaphysical Engine, or What Quill Did) The holiday was expanded to Interstellar Women's Day in the year 2115. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)
Behind the scenes
- The 2019 Big Finish Productions audio anthology The Eighth of March was made in celebration of International Women's Day. The anthology focused on a variety of important female characters from throughout Doctor Who and was written and directed by women.[1]
