John Challis (16 August 1942-19 September 2021[1]) played Scorby in the Doctor Who television story The Seeds of Doom and voiced the fifth incarnation of Drax in the Big Finish audio story The Trouble with Drax.

He shared his memories of The Seeds of Doom in the documentary Podshock and the 111th edition of Big Finish's charity podcast series Toby Hadoke's Who's Round.

Career

He was best known for his role as snooty Freemason car dealer Boycie in the long-running comedy Only Fools and Horses (1981-2003), a role which he reprised for the spin-off series The Green Green Grass (2005-09). He also contributed to the charity reference book Behind the Sofa: Celebrity Memories of Doctor Who.

Personal Life

He was once married to Jean Challis, who appeared in The Idiot's Lantern.
