Like others who have appeared in Doctor Who, such as Clive Swift and Judy Cornwell, he starred on the popular sitcom Keeping Up Appearances (1990-95), and is perhaps best remembered as the long-suffering vicar who is terrified of the show's central character Hyacinth Bucket (who insists her surname is pronounced "Bouquet").
