Kurster was one of Count Grendel's servants. He was charged with murdering Princess Strella, in the event that Prince Reynart failed to go along with the Count's plans. When the Fourth Doctor interfered with the mock wedding, Kurster attempted to follow through with his orders, to his apparent relish, but was knocked out by Romana I and Strella.
