Lane was a member of Rorvik's slaver crew. He inspected the engines after they attempted to take off.

He and Packard accompanied Rorvik in searching for the TARDIS, with Lane working the mass detector.

Lane accompanied Packard, Sagan, Kilroy and Rorvik in exploring the Gateway. He and Packard later returned to the ship, where he discovered from Aldo and Royce that Romana had escaped.

He was later killed when their spacecraft exploded. (TV: Warriors' Gate)
