Behind the scenes

The subtitles of the BBC-version DVD give the name as "Ultramanta". (TV: The Rings of Akhaten)

The Ultramancer costume has repeatedly been reused by the BBC. The helmet originally acted as the headpiece of a Shade in the British children's television show Mission 2110 [1], while the body was previously used for the Metalkind in The Sarah Jane Adventures. Since the appearance of the Ultramancer the costume has been reused several times, for the Mercenoid in the Red Dwarf episode Can of Worms and for the Space Bar skit for the sketch show Walliams and Friends' - along with the Lugal-Irra-Kush and the Tentacled species.
