Hedgewick's World of Wonders

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Hedgewick's World of Wonders was once the greatest theme park in the galaxy.

Features[[edit] | edit source]

According to its map, the park contained at least the Spacey Zoomer Ride, a beach, a "water world", a "big wheel", a garden, a boating lake, a port, a hotel, "Fireball", "the Giant's Cauldron", "Eyeball Terror", "Mushroom Terror" and "Natty Longshoe's Comical Castle". (TV: Nightmare in Silver)

History[[edit] | edit source]

A platoon, led by Captain Alice Ferrin, was sent to Hedgewick's World as punishment for their disobedience. The day that the Eleventh Doctor, Clara Oswald, Angie Maitland and Artie Maitland arrived there, a newly-upgraded race of Cybermen invaded. When the army of Cybermen became impossible to eradicate through direct combat, the planet was destroyed under the orders of Porridge, the chess-playing dwarf, who was the Emperor in disguise. Through voice-command, he armed a bomb to implode the planet housing Hedgewick's World of Wonders. This act wiped out nearly all of the Cybermen, but at least one Cybermite survived the planet-wide destruction and persisted in outer space. (TV: Nightmare in Silver)

Doctor Who: Legacy[[edit] | edit source]

Hedgewick's serves as the location for the some of the first few levels in Legacy. The game shows the Eleventh Doctor, Vastra, and Jenny Flint landing in the park to prevent the Sontarans from changing history, fighting Cybermites, Cybermen, and Mr Clever, and rescuing Porridge.

Ahead of the episode's release, physical maps of Hedgewick's World of Wonders were available for free in comic book and specialty shops around the UK.
