An Air corridor was an artificial environment which could be extended from the TARDIS into open space, in order to provide a limited amount of protection to those who were inside it. The Doctor's TARDIS had the ability to create an air corridor, and did so for River Song's escape of the Byzantium spaceship for her to reach the TARDIS safely. (DW: The Time of Angels) Air corridors could sometimes be combined with force fields and anti-gravity technology, so as to allow people to walk, rather than float, through them. (DW: The Horns of Nimon)
