Joe Boyce was part of the soldier sent by British government to aid the War in Avalon against the Fair Folk.
He was later recruited by the Brigida, the caring part of King Constantine, who was revered as a goddess by the Catuvellauni. He convinced the Brigadier to follow Brigida, and so heal himself of his grief for his dead wife.
Joe Boyce, along with the rest of the Knights of Brigada, held onto things as King Constantine re-separated Earth from Avalon, and so stayed in Avalon.
