Paul Webster was the son of Leo Webster and the head of the Webster Corporation's defence division. In the early 21st century, he was a member of the Ares One mission to Mars. Knowing that the planet was inhabited, he secretly planned to capture and bring back a live Ice Warrior, enabling his father's corporation to create human soldiers enhanced with Martian DNA and technology. He thought he succeeded when he captured Sstast, but while attempting to flee in the Argosy the shuttle was shot down by Martian missiles. He later got hold of a Martian tank and threatened to destroy the Ice Warriors unless his demands were met. Zzaal exchanged himself for Paul's hostages, but when he died of exposure to ultraviolet radiation, the other Ice Warriors were free to take action against Paul, blasting him with a sonic charge.
