David Ellis (22 June 1918-30 June 1978[1]) was the pen name used by writer David Kerkham. He co-wrote the Doctor Who television story The Faceless Ones with Malcolm Hulke.

He also wrote for Dixon of Dock Green and Z-Cars. Ellis had also proposed other Doctor Who storylines such as The Clock and The Ocean Liner, plus another collaboration with Hulke, The People Who Couldn't Remember but none of these storylines were accepted.
