Several issues of the original 2005 incarnation of Doctor Who Adventures opened with a letter to the reader written by the Eleventh Doctor. Though they lacked an official title, they typically opened with the greeting, "Hello, Time Travellers!", with later editions going for a simpler "Hello There!". For simplicity's sake, this overview page shall go with the former title.

The letters typically consisted of relatively short messages from the Doctor, in which he remarked on certain current events, or told readers what to expect from the issue they are reading.

This practice began in DWA 217 and lasted until DWA 335, after which point the magazine switched to similar messages, but now written by the magazine's real-world editor, Moray Laing. The concept was later revisited for the magazine's 2015 relaunch, with letters from the Twelfth Doctor under the header, Dear Readers.
