Ted Kriechel (PROSE: The Novel of the Film) was an attendant at the Walker General Hospital morgue, who worked alongside Pete.

After the the Seventh Doctor appeared to die during surgery on 30 December 1999, Pete and Ted admitted his body to the morgue and ushered it into a refrigeration unit. For the hospital's New Year's Eve fancy dress party, Ted had intended to wear a Wild Bill Hickok costume. Before he had a chance to do so, the newly regenerated Eighth Doctor stole the outfit from his locker. He went to the party anyway, in a corpse costume; which he used to scare Pete. (TV: Doctor Who)

In an alternate universe where the Eighth Doctor married Grace Holloway, Ted and his partner Alice had dinner with the Doctor and Grace. (COMIC: The Glorious Dead)

Behind the scenes

Ted's name is an allusion to the time-travelling duo Bill & Ted. Though his working colleague doesn't share his name, Ted's costume choice of Wild Bill Hickok for the new Year's Eve party would constitute the other half of the reference.
