:::: I'm not entirely sure that they are real (in universe). The sonic screwdriver definitely is, but the Doctor in the Tardis could just be someone who looks like Tom Baker/is cosplaying as the Fourth Doctor, however, the portaloo-Tardis is seen flying through the end-credits, so I think it's meant to be ambiguous. It's really hard to tell, and the elements are minor enough that it'd probably be [[Talk:The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (series)]] precedent and without a clear statement of authorial intent (which we won't get now Bob Baker's dead), we probably won't be able to convince other people. Shaun the Sheep[[edit source]]
Does Shaun the Sheep:Farmaggaddon merit a page? It was produced for the BBC, but I'm not sure whether that means it was licenced to use the Doctor and the Sonic Screwdriver, which it does. (The Doctor in there could be interpreted as someone dressed up, but the implication is that this is the actual Doctor, especially as the Portaloo Tardis, for much of the credits, can be seen flying around in space). For that matter, it could even be a potential candidate for invalid coverage, but I want to get other people's input before I start a thread at Inclusion Debates. I'll take a look at copyright law, and see if there's anything about stuff that's produced for other stuff, if you see what I mean, but really, I think this one's just a very odd case indeed. What do people think? Aquanafrahudy 📢 16:05, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- While it may be licensed, the idea that the TARDIS is a portaloo makes me feel as if this isn't meant to be taken seriously (though I haven't watched the film so I'm not sure about this for certain). Reminds me a lot of Ted 2 technically having a licensed appearance of a Dalek in it, though that will be an interesting one to cover as a. the Dalek is only a guy in a Dalek costume at comic con, b. it is clearly not meant to be set in the DWU, and c. we'd be covering an entire film, which is also a sequel to another film, both of which have virtually no connection to Who; in that situation, I feel giving it a merchandise page may be more appropiate than a source page. 16:34, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
- I meant a RW overview page, and the Sonic Screwdriver also makes a brief appearance. Also, one more thing I forgot to say, it's written by Bob Baker, so there's also crew connections. (and to say it's a sequel to another film is a bit of an understatement. In reality, it's a sequel to another film that's a continuation of a television series that also happens to be a spin off of Wallace and Gromit). Aquanafrahudy 📢 16:46, 23 June 2023 (UTC)
