The Dissolution of the Monasteries was a campaign hedaded by Henry VIII in the mid-16th century, which sought to dissolve the powers of monasteries in England. As one result of this campaign, Boscombe Hall was built on the former site of the Convent of the Little Sisters of Saint Gudula at Boscombe in 1572. (TV: The Stones of Blood)
