After the Dummy Massacre, the webmaster of Who is Doctor Who? asked his readers to send in their stories after there were supposed reports of "millions" of people hearing a "strange disembodied voice"; on 2 April 2005, David wrote to the site that he heard the disembodied voice, accompanied by what sounded like a crowd of people shouting and calling out. He suggested that it was a future echo of the disaster, and the crowds were really the hundreds of frightened victims screaming in terror.
