An Ood worked at the Spire on Faber. He was especially telepathic thanks to his work translating Gatrin Pendle whilst she suffered from aphasia.

Because of his telepathic abilities and connection to Pendle, the Ood was in tune with the Resilient and it was when he began speaking as though he were Thomas Good that Ida Scott realised that Tom had been absorbed into the Resilient. She left Faber with the Ood and Odysseus Scott before Faber turned to dust as a result of the Resilient's gravity-warping powers and the Ood read out encouraging words that Ida wished her father had said to her before they parted ways. (AUDIO: Odyssey)
