I was the woman that would become River Song, although I didn’t know that at the time.

I was trained and conditioned for one purpose, I was born to kill the Doctor, and I did so with a kiss. A kiss poisoned by the Judas tree.

But I was shown who River Song would be and I saw just how much I would love him. And so I gave all my remaining lives to restore his. Because I knew the Doctor was worth it.

And in return he left me the most wonderful gift.

From this point on I realised I knew more than him. From that moment on we were living our lives in the wrong order, the Doctor and me. And in all our future meetings I would know him more but he would know me less. Until one day the Doctor would invite me to watch me kill him.

River Song: Her Story was a lengthy segment of the final episode of Doctor Who Confidential. It featured Alex Kingston, in character as River Song, narrating a chronological biography of her life. It also featured previously unreleased shots from previous stories, including River as a child escaping the Silent.

Because the segment was not specifically credited, it's hard to know who, exactly, made it. It was likely written by Steven Moffat. It featured no new footage, so it had no director, director of photography or really not much of any crew. Its key creatives were likely Offline Editor John Parker and Edit Assistant George Sabapathy, the people credited with editing When Time Froze as a whole. It's entirely possible that colourist Matt Mullins may have been required to achieve a colour balance on the piece, since it was the combination of many different episodes.
