Rupert Vansittart (born 10 February 1958[1]) played General Asquith in the Doctor Who television story Aliens of London, along with a Slitheen disguised as Asquith in both that and World War Three. He also portrayed a number of characters for Big Finish Productions.

Away from Doctor Who, Vansittart has frequently worked with Rowan Atkinson, appearing alongside him in Mr. Bean and Johnny English Reborn, and also played the aristocrat Lord Ashfordly in ITV period police drama Heartbeat.
