Mr Castavillian was a Kaled scientist on Skaro in one account of the Daleks' creation. He acted as an assistant to Davros, and came up with several anagrams of Kaled for Davros’s new creation, much to Davros’s displeasure. He met the Fourteenth Doctor, from whom he learnt the name "Dalek" and received a plunger to put on the Dalek. Although the plunger was not a part of Davros' original design, he admitted to liking it and it became a standard part of the Daleks' design.
