Martin Trueman was a former con artist turned-astrologer who lived in East Acton, London, England.

Prior to conning people with false astrology predictions, Trueman worked several jobs, including selling vacuum cleaners, rounding shopping trolleys and cleaning toilets; he began to view himself as a "nobody". When he was possessed by the Ancient Lights, he began to give highly accurate readings at a local theatre, quickly gaining popularity. Trueman started a show in which he demonstrated his talents before a live audience.
